DATA CENTER FEATURES
Within the IDC our provider house a redundant Cisco 12008 GSR
platform. That platform serves as the core gateway that routes your
traffic to and from our upstream IP network providers. We currently
have 4 GigE Layer 3 circuits installed into this core routing
platform. Our networks never preference one network over another but
allow BGP to pick and choose on the fly the most efficient way to
route your traffic at any given point in time. If there are ever any
problems with any IP network provider they have sufficient capacity in
place to turn down the GigE interface to that specific upstream
backbone. At that point BGP will reroute the traffic over the
remaining 3 connections while the network engineers work with the
upstream provider to pinpoint and correct the problem. Since our
provider have such a large number of IP network providers to choose
from within the facility they can change providers, usually within a
week, if any single provider fails to meet the agreed upon performance
objectives established between our SP when the circuit was initially
turned and tested.
Datacenter also has its own independent AS numbers and a Full class B
IP assignment making our network connectivity as solid and as flexible
as today's technology will allow.
